This is for all the mothers and people who may not be mothers, but have filled the role of mother is someone's life.  There is no greater honor than to be a mother.  I feel that my greatest achievement in my life has been and always will be my daughter, Sara.  She is my life, my pride and joy.  We may not see eye to eye, we get mad and have LOUD discussions at times, but after all is said and done we love each other and will always be close.  Just the other day out of the blue Sara sent me a text and this is what she said:  Mom I love you.  Thank you for being my best friend.  Words can't describe how that one text touched the inner most part of my being.  The only thing greater than loving my child is to be loved in return.

I am truly blessed to have been given the greatest gift in the world from My God - my beautiful daughter.  I love you Sara and you are the most SPECTACULAR accomplishment of my life.  You give me joy, sadness, laughter, frustration, love, challenges, and so much more and through it all I AM PROUD TO SAY YOU ARE MY DAUGHTER.

May each and every one of you be blessed as I am and tell that special child in your life I LOVE YOU.

Mother's Day is Sunday and I'd like to wish everyone a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

There's nothing greater than a mother's love.  Being a mother I can say loving a child (whether by birth or by choice) is the greatest gift in the world.  I am very fortunate that I still have my mother to cherish every day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and those who fulfill that role in someone's life.

God made rainy days so gardeners could get their housework done.
Otherwise we would always be outside enjoying the beauty that has been given to us.

Yesterday was my dad's birthday.  He has been gone since 1978 and I still miss him.  He will always be a part of me and I remember all the things he tried to teach me when he was living.  He was a hard working man and loved people.  There isn't anything he wouldn't have done to help anyone.  Love you Dad

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.

Trust doesn't always come easy.  If we get hurt by someone or we just naturally don't trust people it is very hard sometimes to trust other people FULLY much less to put our trust in the Lord.  Do you have trouble letting go of your control and letting God have the steering wheel of your life?  I know at times I do.  It's not easy when you aren't in control.  It makes us very uncomfortable.  It makes me uncomfortable.

To grow we must step out in faith and get out of our comfort zones.  Who is with me taking that leap of faith into the unknown?

The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases

Isn't it great to know that no matter what happens, no matter what you have done there is someone who will never stop loving you, never leave your side, someone who is there until your journey on this earth is over.

Who or what is you hope resting on?  Is it material possessions, your job, a person?  There is only one who we should put all of our hope in and HE is sufficient.  His love and grace are sufficient for all things!

Anything worth having is worth working for it.  Stay focused on your goals and work hard.  It will be worth it in the end.

I Wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in His word,
I put my hope.
Psalm 130:5

How many of you like to wait for anything?  Do you mind having to wait in line at the grocery, wait at the stop light when you are late for work, or just hate to wait in general.  I know there are many times when the Lord has told me "Not Now".  I'm like why, why can't I have what I want right now.  If you are going to let me have what I've asked for, why not go ahead and let me have it now.  We are all living in a culture of the "Now Generation."  I want what I want and I want it now.

Always when God has said NO to me, it has been for a good reason.  It's either something that I don't need, something that in the long run will be detrimental to my relationship with God, or more times than not GOD HAS A BETTER PLAN FOR ME.  Yes it's true.

There have been times when I've struggled with illnesses and problems of life and I tell God, "I don't want to go on any more.  I just want this to all be over."  Why I often ask, and always in the end there is a TESTIMONY from my TEST.  Either I have learned a lesson that was meant for me to learn (which is always the case), but ultimately in the end I am able to HELP someone else going through the exact same thing that I have just gone through.  God can take anything bad and bring good out of it.

I thank God for the many times I had to wait for HIS timing and not my own.  Thank you for giving me what I needed, not what I wanted.  The wait was worth it in the end!

You don’t know how STRONG you are until you are put into hot water.
All the troubles and difficulties that we face in our lives are for a reason.  Without them we wouldn’t grow into the person we have become.
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
James 1:2-4

No One Can Make You Feel Inferior Without Your Consent
Boy this is one that I struggle with at times.  One to work on in 2014.
Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given,
and then sink yourself into that… Don’t compare yourself with others.”

Galatians 6:4 MSG

Crafting = Quality Family Time - From Primitive Times Magazine

Crafting = Quality Family Time

Some parents are skilled crafters. Others are doing well to cut paper in a reasonably straight line. No matter which group you fall into, crafting with your kids can be beneficial for all involved.
Few things bring families together like crafting. Here are some of the good things that come out of crafting with your kids.
* Crafting builds creativity. Developing minds need a creative outlet, and crafting provides the opportunity for kids to use their imaginations. It helps them learn to solve problems, and it could lay the groundwork for a lifetime of interest in art. For parents, getting creative can help reduce stress and promote using the brain in ways that we don’t have a reason to use it every day.
* Crafting teaches kids to follow directions. This seems like a very basic skill, but we all know adults who can’t seem to follow directions. When kids craft, they learn the consequences of not following directions when their projects do not turn out as expected. This instils in them the importance of doing things the right way the first time.
* For young children, crafting is fabulous for learning basic skills. Almost any type of craft promotes hand-eye coordination. Kids can also learn to use scissors, measure and do lots of other things they will eventually do in everyday life.
* Parents and children have a chance to talk. In our busy lives, it seems that we know less about our kids than previous generations of parents did. Passive activities such as watching TV do little to encourage conversation. But when you’re crafting together, talking comes naturally. You can seize the opportunity to discuss such things as your child’s interests, his concerns, and how he’s doing in school.
* Crafting is a great way to wind down. It’s wonderful for kids to be active, but there are times when they need to calm down. If you find your child getting agitated or exhibiting an overabundance of energy near bedtime, try bringing out the craft supplies. Crafting engages kids’ minds, giving them something to focus on and a good reason to sit still for a while.
* Creating things is a confidence booster. Parents who craft regularly know the feeling of accomplishment when a project is complete. Multiply this feeling by ten, and you have a pretty good idea of how your child feels when he makes something. For kids, crafting can help build positive self-esteem.
* Working on a project together is a great way to teach your kids teamwork. This will help them develop skills needed to resolve disputes peacefully and effectively. It will also help them discover their strengths and teach them that doing their best will make the entire project turn out better.
* Crafting creates treasured family memories. The finished product will serve as a reminder of the fun you had making it together.
Crafting as a family provides opportunities for us to interact with our children. It is also a valuable learning experience for them. Don’t worry if you aren’t the world’s greatest crafter. Simply being willing to try anyway is a lesson to your kids in itself.

Be the Change that You Wish to See in The World.
It starts with each and everyone of us.  I can’t change things that I have no control over, but I can change the things which are in my control.  Start there and God will take care of the rest.

Facebook in 2014 - Article from

Facebook in 2014

Put on your party hats and string up the banners: Facebook celebrates its 10th birthday in 2014.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more popular, yet polarizing, service than Facebook over the last decade. In less than 10 years, Facebook has collected a billion-plus users, hosted a presidential Town Hall, been the topic of a major motion film, and connected people from every corner of the planet. Its global brand recognition may be the best in the tech world, rivaling only Google and Apple, both of which had a substantial head start
